While our country prepares to suffer through anxious days of uncertainty, confusion, anger, resentment and create further separation, with the final result creating bitterness, what an ideal time to introduce compromise!

We all come from different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. Despite knowing this basic concept, how many of us subject others to judgement not applied to ourselves? How often do we understand how our own concepts and conclusions came to exist?

Let’s start with the basics. We all deserve respect. We all desire recognition in what and where we dedicate our time and energy. What personality, achievement, financial reward, social presence, etc, do we find valuable, intimidating, or worthy of respect? Do we place similar expectations on ourselves?

Let me offer myself as an easy target.

I believe in God. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior a long time ago. That foundation forms the substance of who I am. I am my own harshest critic and fail to forgive myself on things which I forgive others. I have a wide variety of faults and failures which create massive anxiety when analysing how others perceive me. I possess a pure heart, which feels for those suffering. I believe we have a responsibility to help others who can’t help themselves (injured Vets, survivors of traumatic injuries, etc).
